FYI, this story is more than a year old

Forrester Research recently conducted a study on 10 of the main Enterprise File Sync and Share (EFSS) platform providers. The report revealed that Acronis received the highest possible score in the EFSS Technology Strategy criterion, with a 5 out of 5.

According to the study, “Acronis differentiates with a policy-driven approach to secure file sharing” and its policy engine “provides a broad set of options to control content-sharing capabilities, enable role-based content distribution, and manage mobile app configurations.

John Zanni, Acronis chief marketing officer, says they're honoured to be recognised by Forrester as a strong perform in the EFSS space.

“Our Acronis Access solutions are key offerings in the Acronis hybrid cloud data protection platform and the perfect choice for businesses that require complete protection for files on premises and in the cloud,” Zanni says.

The report from Forrester asserts that enterprises do still hold large amounts of documents on premises. Despite cloud applications being on the rise, the most critical content that needs to be easily accessed often sits in-house. According to the report, “hybrid EFSS providers give EA pros the flexibility to deliver a great file-sharing experience without requiring migration efforts.

What makes Acronis different?

According to the Forrester report, “Acronis differentiates with a policy-driven approach to secure file sharing” and its policy engine “provides a broad set of options to control content-sharing capabilities, enable role-based content distribution, and manage mobile app configurations.

Acronis was recognised for providing flexible deployment options that include a multitenant cloud solution, an on-premises option that includes a content gateway service to connect to existing sources or a hybrid approach that is installed on-premises but works with cloud storage services. They were also reported to have customers with a relatively high level of satisfaction.

“We chose Acronis Access Advanced because it was by far the best solution that met our needs in terms of being a secure on-premises solution, cross platform and easy to integrate with MobileIron, Microsoft and Adobe,” says Roger Burgerhout, senior administrator of Royal Dutch Touring Club ANWB's IT solution centre, an Acronis Access Advanced customer. “Our employees, whether on site or remote, can now access, edit and share their files securely with their colleagues and partners from any device.

In this age of collaboration, there is little doubt that an effective EFSS platform is now crucial to an organisation's success.
