EMURGO, a global player in blockchain technology committed to propelling Web3 adoption through the Cardano blockchain, announced its strategic partnership with Huawei Cloud with the aim of strengthening the Cardano ecosystem.

Under this partnership, Emurgo intends to set up a Cardano Validator Node on the Huawei Cloud, effectively incorporating Huawei’s cloud infrastructure into Cardano’s open-source public blockchain network. The collaboration is poised to benefit both Asia-Pacific and Africa through increased growth and the adoption of Web3.

Huawei Cloud, a prominent cloud service brand backed by tech juggernaut Huawei, ranks among the world's largest cloud computing entities. They can utilise this to develop innovative Web3 solutions on the Cardano blockchain. Vesting Cardano with scalability and interoperability of cloud services, the partnership also offers Cardano developers the opportunity to leverage Huawei’s Marketplace, a platform inundated by numerous enterprises.

This partnership serves as the first step towards a meaningful alliance between EMURGO and Huawei in their quest to extend the Cardano ecosystem in crucial regional economies throughout Asia Pacific and Africa.

Taking pride in the collaboration, EMURGO's CEO Ken Kodama remarked, “We are excited to be partnering with Huawei Cloud, a world-leading cloud stack solution with extensive global reach. Marrying Huawei Cloud’s global network with EMURGO’s role as a gateway to the Cardano ecosystem, this collaboration converges the traction of Huawei Cloud’s trusted cloud technology with Cardano’s network of blockchain developers and Web3 solutions."

Rex Lei Yang, Managing Director of Huawei Cloud Singapore expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, "At Huawei Cloud, we are on a mission to pursue continuous excellence to bolster our position as a market leader of the cloud ecosystem. We are energised by the opportunity to collaborate with EMURGO which will provide us with access to an expansive network of Web3 developers and innovative solutions on the Cardano blockchain network."

EMURGO played a pivotal role in the inception of the Cardano blockchain, now boasting over 3000 stake pools or validators that ensure security within the Cardano network and facilitate liquid, delegated staking abilities for millions of Cardano users across the globe. Cardano's impressive network across Africa through Cardano accelerator, Adaverse, and regional entity EMURGO Africa, thus extending their grasp on the Asia Pacific region beyond their established presence in countries like Singapore, India, Indonesia, and Japan.
