Video conferencing solution gets a facelift
Vidyo, the provider of software-based technology and visual communication solutions, has partnered with Genband to integrate the VidyoWorks platform into Genband’s Smart Office Unified Communications (UC) solution.
This integration makes it easier to move phone calls to multi-point video calls with screen sharing.
The integrated solution allows collaboration across multiple locations and remote users without the need to buy separate collaboration tools that require individual training, administration and support.
The VidyoWorks software-based architecture runs on commodity hardware and in virtual computing environments.
Vidyo says this lowers the initial and ongoing cost as well as the complexity of the solution when deployed in a service provider or enterprise’s network.
The VidyoWorks platform in conjunction with the suite of Genband UC is targeted toward business, government, education and healthcare customers.
“Vidyo’s advanced SVC-based video conferencing technology gives our Smart Office UC solution a competitive advantage over other unified communications offerings in the market,” says Carl Baptiste, Genband senior vice president of Unified Communications and Enterprise Product Line Management.
“Our service provider and enterprise customers get a more efficient deployment architecture and their users get a better experience, even on 3G/4G connected mobile clients or constrained networks,” he says.
“Enhancing our Smart Office solution with Vidyo’s multi-point video conferencing and screen sharing tools enables users to be more productive, whether using desktop or mobile devices and on any network, regardless of where they may be,” Baptiste says.
“Vidyo’s integration with Genband’s Smart Office will provide a powerful offering that combines best-in-class real time communications solutions with the highest-quality video technology people have come to know and rely upon through Vidyo,” says Eran Westman, Vidyo CEO.
“Genband is a global leader in software-based real time communications solutions for service providers, enterprises, system integrators and developers and this integration with the VidyoWorks platform is another example of how Vidyo is driving change to enrich the communications experience with face-to-face interaction,” he says.
